You're In the Movies
|
| |
Yes, you are in the movies. Join us as we walk through the time line. We will make sets and fashion costumes for our production. Scripts can be written, if time and interest permit. Prepared narrations will be read as our living timeline figures act out scenes from history. Scripts with speaking parts will be considered if time and interest permit. After a little practice, the journey will begin as the timeline comes to life. Our time travel will be recorded and each person will be mailed a copy to watch over and over again. Time periods will be announced and will change periodically. Each camp will cover a specific time period and will be offered quarterly. Destinations will include Ancient History, Rome and Greece, Middle Ages, Reformation & Renaissance, Colonial American History, 1800's, 1900's, and a Run Through World History.
These camps might be combined with the "A Day in . . . " camps. Just ask.

Magnificent Math
|
| |
Coming in August.
Math is more than adding and subtracting, it impacts every single second of our daily lives from the clock to the calendar to watching a movie. Math is more than a bunch of numbers. It is man's feeble attempt to catch a glimpse of the awesome order that God has used to construct all of creation. Math is a reminder to us that the Lord is faithful and true, and His thoughts are higher than our thoughts. Mathematical concepts are quietly in action everywhere. Music is math in action; what beautiful fractions. Art, cooking, driving, shopping and so much more are founded on mathematical concepts. Math is everywhere! Whether we keep our feet on the ground or put man on the moon, math helps explain it all! Maybe you thought it was just a bunch of numbers. Think again! Math is marvelous and magnificient! Plus, you will also learn some fun ways to drill math facts ( or even an advanced formula. There will be something for the whole family, even some algebra tricks and challenging math riddles. Jumpstart the motivation to love math.

Grammar-Rammar-Bing-Bang
|
| |
Coming in August
Did you ever think that grammar could be side-splitting fun? Join us for a day of grammar that will jumpstart or refresh your understanding of the gift of language. This camp will give your students a foundational understanding that you can build upon with any grammar program. Whether they have never even heard of a noun, or could just use a good review, the whole family will enjoy "meeting" the parts of speech. See nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs come to life. You never knew prepositions could be so cute. Diagramming sentences our way will require a good pair of shoes. So dress comfortably, and be ready to move! There will be some time to catch your breath, but we cannot guarantee that you will stop laughing. We will even throw in some puctuation for no extra charge. For older students, we will do our five-minute, condensed version of the not-so-famous skit,"I'm Not Afraid of a Semi-colon."
